First, Abass, nice to hear from you. Your assessment of the CSES status is right. One thing, however, is that we never addressed Dr. Becker's point about not needing the first part of the report. In my estimation, the arguments we set there (however right they may be) did not sit well with the committee--at least that's the impression I got from Dr. Becker. Regarding your participation this time, do you see any problems with the arrangement I suggested in my previous posting--namely, let's just the four of us work it out and then go through Cleo/EEDN or ESS (or both, really, it should be possible). I think calling the whole CSES group or other members right now is really just going to bog us down. However, your presence is invaluable. I'd be willing to hear any arrangements you think would work out best for the success of the project. danEl, I agree with you about postponing the issue of x8 or x12 for the matrix, as well as the placement of the archaic characters at the end, so we can decide on the ordering. Could you explain the ASCII lexicographic convention vis-a-vis the ASCII address order? I can agree with the matrix you propose at face value, but I don't know much about the convention. Also, the "Ethiopian Character Name List" threw me off a bit. It says SERA, but where do the "consonant phonetic letters" come from? Bye for now. yTna
