To follow the name choices in the table I had to write out the corresponding name with SERA, I believe it is matched up right at the end of this letter. My own 2 cents for expansion is to grow as need dictates, lets not take on more mass until we have to. Perhaps later to break an issue we deadlock on -but we need to get going on an issue first to reach such a point. Lets make the adjustments that brought us together first, then invite others to review the work. I would like to get started on one issue that the Becker table brings up indirectly, also a point I have discussed with one or more of you at an earlier time. The lexicon in Becker's table follows linearly as : [Consonants][Diacritics][Numbers][Punctuation] The matrix of the CSES report followed as : [Punctuation] [34x8 Fidel ] [ Numbers ] [ Diqalawoc ] I am going by memory and may be a little off. I wish to propose an ordering that follows the ASCII lexicographic convention (NOT the ASCII adddress order) for the Ethiopic matrix as: [Punctuation] [ Numbers ] [34x? Fidel ] [ Archaic ] Hence the matrix existed in the lexicographical sorted order of its members. Should the Fidel region be 12 columns wide or 8 lets leave as a separated issue for now. The "Archaic" zone at the end is left for characters we may not have discovered from some small language groups, glyphs, ligatures, etc. Even diacritical marks for building lesser known letters. Again, if we can agree now on the NEED for such a zone, we can leave the issue for what to include within for another time. What are the thoughts here on the Ethiopic lexicon? ciao from vt, -dan'El ETHIOPIAN CHARACTER NAMES LIST @ Consonant phonetic letters SERA 1200 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT H he 1201 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT L le 1202 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT HH He 1203 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT M me 1204 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT SZ `se 1205 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT R re 1206 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT S se 1207 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT SH xe 1208 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT Q qe 1209 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT QH Qe 120A ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT B be 120B ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT V ve 120C ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT T te 120D ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT C ce 120E ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT X `he ?? 120F ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT N ne 1210 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT NY Ne 1211 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT GLOTTAL e/a ?? 1212 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT K ke 1213 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT XX Ke 1214 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT W we 1215 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT NULL `e 1216 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT Z ze 1217 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT ZH Ze 1218 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT Y ye 1219 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT D de 121A ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT DD De Oromo 121B ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT J je 121C ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT G ge 121D ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT GG Ge Bilen 121E ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT TH Te 121F ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT CH Ce 1220 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT PH Pe 1221 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT TS Se 1222 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT TZ `Se 1223 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT F fe 1224 ETHIOPIAN CONSONANT P pe
