First and for most I would like to say _great initiative_. The initiative that was taken by CSES has achieved two results: 1. It has brought the issue of standardization to the Ethiopian community. 2. And it's alternative draft proposal has made a significant impact on the Unicode people. That doesn't mean the consortium has accepted our proposal. While CSES was addressing the second version of it's draft proposal a number of things occured. 1. Dr. Becker made a commentary reply to our draft proposal. CSES discussed his comments and some questions were raised. I believe the questions were forwarded to Dr. Becker, but nothing has been heard from him. 2. CSES members participation, specially those who were active, started to fade away leading to the stallement of the CSES. What Should be Done? 1. As I indicated in my paper on Cleo conference, the task should be continued under the umbrella of Cleo/EEDN. 2. The current intiative should be directed to reorganize CSES. I don't believe it is wise to start from scratch as it is suggested here. 3. If there will be such a task group, it should pick up where CSES has left off. However, if you gentlemen prefer the current approach, I will respect that, but I will not be able to work as a member of the group. Instead, I will provide all the necessary support including passing to you any existing documents and relevent information.
