Admission to the Graduate Programmes is in accordance with he requirements of the school of Graduate studies and specific Departmental requirements.
The only concentration area
offered for the 1992/93 academic year is
however Economic Policy analysis of
which there are 12 students at the
moment.
The Department of Accounting and
Management and Public Administration
jointly are currently planning to offer an
MBA (Master of Business
Administration) programme and two
short cycle MA Programmes in Public
Enterprise Management and
international Marketing.
The MBA Programme is designed for
those who have followed relevant and
appropriate undergraduate programmes
in areas like Accounting, Management,
Public Administration, Economics and
Engineering. I; is a two-year programme
including the thesis component. The
MBA degree is awarded to candidates
who complete 48 credit hours, (including
6 credit of thesis in the concentration
area) and attain a minimum overall
cumulative grade point average of 3.0
upon graduation,
Candidates in these programmes
have two options for graduation; either
through final comprehensive
examination, or a thesis as approved by
Departmental Graduate Committee
(DGC).
This is a special two years graduate
programme leading to the degree of
Mater of Arts in Public Enterprise
Management. Candidates are required
to take courses from the MBA
programme and additional courses
specific to the area of Public Enterprise
Management. The total credit hours
required for graduation is at the
minimum 45 with 30 credit hours of
courses from the MBA Programme and
15 credit hours on specialization courses.
MSc in Economics
The MSc degree in Economics is
awarded to a student who has completed
a study scheme which involves a total of
32-35 credit hours of which 6 credit
hours are allotted to a dissertation
written under the supervision of an
advisor assigned by the department and
examined by an examining board
including at least one external examiner,
usually a member of the faculty of a
recognized University abroad. A student
is required to complete the programme
within a period of two years of actual
enrollment. The programme is currently
being run in collaboration with the
Institute of Economics and Statistics of
the University of Oxford and is planned
to offer students the option of
specializing in Economic Policy Analysis,
International Economics, Manpower

MA Programmes
The Short-Cycle M.A. Programmes
offered jointly by the Department of
Accounting and Management and Public
Administration are essentially based on
the MBA programme. They are
designed to provide graduate training in
specific areas of public Enterprise
Management and International
Marketing Management to satisfy
manpower needs as become desirable
from lime to time. These programmes
may thus e offered on a permanent
basis or be phased out as the case may
be.
(M.A.) Master of Arts in Public

Marketing Management
